Traders

Traders are aliens you interact with via Spaceport, after first being contacted via the Communications Center. They can sell you crates, including buildings, equipment and resources.

VAL will inform you of traders wishing to dock with your station and gives you the offer to accept their offer or no. If accepted they will dock with your station and the trade icon will appear. Traders can also be interacted with by clicking on the screen area of the spaceport. Upgrades to the spaceport decrease docking fees, increase trader inventory and increase the amount traders pay for goods.

Traders often offer better prices for buildings and resources associated with which jobs those races perform on your station, for example a Gresulurian trader may offer better deals on medical supplies and medical station crates. These better deals are marked by a yellow star. if the star is on the traders side they sell that item cheaper, if is on your side you can sell that item to them for more.

Trade is often a simpler and cheaper way to acquire building crates for the research lab, rather than building them in the factory or creating the buildings from energy.

Dryad trader

These trader will often sell food and buy medical supplies. They do not buy/ remove toxic waste or cleansed toxic waste.

Hem’ Netjer trader

These traders have the second smallest selection of items, with only the dodgy traders having less to offer.

These traders can potentially be of any visitor race , but always have a quite limited selection, along with being the only ones who will buy contraband from you.

Fake traders

Pirates can disguise themselves as traders to attack your station. Placing a security mech near your spaceport can help deal with this problem.

Criminal traders

Some traders steal your energy when you try and buy goods from them, leaving you will less energy and no goods. Some are named For 'G' Ery.

Free traders

These traders don't use the spaceport and only buy primary and secondary resource crates. You can only sell the things they ask for to them, not buy anything from them. They visit less regularly than other traders and the player has a limited time window to harvest/create the resources they want before they move on. These traders contact the player via the communications center but cannot be contacted by the player. These traders are the only way you can sell crates before getting a spaceport.
